was born in 1963 in Hameln, Germany. After gaining a reputation as an illustrator and designer, he devoted himself to freestyle painting, first as a star cartoonist. In recent years, however, he distanced himself from this occupation again and turned to the New Pop Realism, to which he remained faithful to this day. Krüger approaches nearly all of his subjects with a level of respect and sincerity contrasting the often extreme exaggeration of their features. The result is the creation of visually and psychologically explosive 'Krugerized' portraits. He devotes his art to a game of misleading identity and portraiture, authenticity and fiction. With his works Krüger provokes a reflection on the machinery of media presentation and the iconomania of contemporary image production. Krüger lives and works in Hannover, Germany and California, USA.
